Flintshire House Prices Dip but Wrexham Prices on the Up

Wrexham house prices climb, while Flintshire sees a slight dip.

While Flintshire saw a 2% drop in house prices in June, landing at an average of £213,287, don’t hit the panic button just yet. This little dip doesn’t wipe out the overall growth trend. In fact, over the past year, property prices in Flintshire have actually gone up by 1%. That’s an extra £2,100 in your pocket compared to last year!

Meanwhile, over in Wrexham, things are looking even brighter. House prices there have jumped up by a healthy 1.6% in June, settling at an average of £202,972. This rise bucks the national trend in Wales, which saw a more modest increase of 0.3%.

First-Time Buyers

For those dipping their toes into the property market, Flintshire’s first-time buyers are currently shelling out an average of £180,400 for their first home. That’s a hefty £37,000 more than what newbies were paying back in June 2019.

Wrexham, on the other hand, offers a slightly more affordable entry point for first-time buyers. The average price tag for first homes there sits at £176,814.

What Type of Property is Performing Best?

In Flintshire, flats have taken a bit of a tumble, with prices dropping by 2% in June. However, in Wrexham, terraced houses are proving to be a hot commodity, with prices climbing by 1.9% to reach an average of £154,406.

The Bottom Line:

While Flintshire’s housing market takes a breather, Wrexham’s is showing promising signs of growth. Keep an eye on these trends to make savvy decisions, whether you’re buying or selling!
