Surrey’s “Millionaire’s Row” Tops the Charts in Luxury Home Sales

Pewley Way in Guildford and Broadleaf Road in Farnham have earned the title of “Millionaire’s Row”, having recorded more property sales over £1 million than any other area in Surrey. This rise in high-value transactions highlights a broader trend seen across England and Wales.

Between April 2023 and March 2024, 14,000 homes across England and Wales were sold for more than £1 million each. Data sourced from the Land Registry reveals that almost half of these sales occurred in London. However, Surrey set itself apart with a whopping 1,262 homes sold at this price point, more than any other county outside of London. Notably, Pewley Way and Broadleaf Road each saw five of these lavish transactions, the highest within the county.

Record-Breaking Sales in Local Luxury

The spotlight shone brightly on Hascombe Grange, a standout property on Godalming Road in Loxhill, which fetched £8.65 million in October. This sale not only topped Surrey’s charts but also ranked as the sixth most expensive home sold outside of London last year. Following closely in the high-stakes luxury market were Garden Reach House on Camp End Road in Weybridge, which sold for £7.50 million, and Hideaway on Eaton Park Road in Cobham, which went for £7.25 million. Stoke House on Stokesheath Road in Oxshott wasn’t far behind, selling at £6.75 million.

A Glimpse into England’s Priciest Properties

While Surrey’s luxury market is booming, it’s London that continues to dominate the high-end property scene in England. The most expensive home sold over the last year was a lavish apartment in Ashburton Place, Mayfair, which commanded a staggering £38.64 million. Other notable sales included properties in Notting Hill, Chelsea, Kensington, and Belgravia, with prices ranging from £25.68 million to £35 million.

Surrey’s Elite Postcodes

When it comes to the most sought-after areas in Surrey, the KT11 postcode area, covering Cobham, holds the title for the priciest homes, with an average sale price of £1.44 million. Virginia Water and Wentworth, under the GU25 postcode, saw average home prices of £1.18 million, while properties in Esher, Claygate, and Hinchley Wood (KT10) averaged £1.15 million. The KT24 area, which includes West Horsley, East Horsley, and Effingham, also featured prominently with average prices over £1 million.
